Swallow’s song
Sweet bird songs ring in the air,
it’s earthy voices so true
Brims the heart with love and care,
joy never felt so true
Birdie into the heart flew,
as peckers knock on door
With frequent passing fondness grew,
tucked her in palms adore
One still summer she was gone,
and so did her dreamy tune
Pining at the break of dawn,
rising to hear her soon
As the days went past,
muddled with rue
Doubtful shadows cast,
was it even true?
One morn so bright,
twitters came anon
With eyes shut tight,
grasped what was gone
